Installation instructions

Please follow the application instructions for hassle free installation and future maintenance-

 

• Provide a completely dry and leveled surface for mounting the mosaics.
• If the mosaics are mounted directly onto walls, ensure zero water seepage in the wall.
• Applications in wet areas or excessive moisture exposed areas are not advisable.
• Any standard glue (substrate to be considered) can be used for mounting mosaics. For standard installations on plywood leveled surfaces standard PVAc glues are to be used.
• Allow the water based glues to dry out completely before filling the grooves.
• Standard plastic spacers of 1.5mm can be used to maintain grooves between the mosaics.
• Maintain uniform pressure on the surface until the glue dries out completely. Please consider ability to apply uniform pressure in applications on curved surfaces.
• Do not sand heavily for lacquering immediately after application.
• Grooves to be filled with compatible material such as epoxy grouts.
• First lacquer coat is essential before applying epoxy grout. Final lacquer coats need to be done after filling epoxy grouts
• Standard lacquers used on veneered surfaces are good for mosaics as well.

Maintaining your 'GEMSS' surfaces

• Always clean with dry or moist cloth.
• Avoid cleaning with wet cloths.
• Avoid direct water contact or water logging for longer duration.
